CGI Federal President Stephanie Mango Honored With 2023 Wash100 Award for Driving Contract Wins, Software Implementation - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Executive Mosaic is excited to present CGI Federal President Stephanie Mango with her second Wash100 Award in recognition of her enduring leadership that carried the wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI through a triumphant year of contract awards and technological accomplishments.

The coveted award, which annually recognizes the government contracting industry’s most notable figures, reached its momentous 10th anniversary this year. Mango’s proven leadership and continuous dedication to the government contracting community were highlighted during Executive Mosaic’s competitive selection process, securing her a spot in the 2023 Wash100 class.

Cast a vote for Stephanie Mango as your favorite awardee at the Wash100 site to help place her on the No. 1 spot of this year’s Popular Vote rankings.

In a 2021 interview with ExecutiveBiz, Mango cited her upbringing as the daughter of a civil servant as the catalyst for her interest in government work. Though she began her career with a goal of joining the federal community, Mango said her first position as a consultant for American Management Systems inspired her to stay on the industry side of GovCon.

“I found I loved working in industry as a consultant – it allowed me to work across numerous agencies and help solve many exciting challenges,” said Mango.

After spending nearly a decade with AMS, she joined CGI when the two companies merged in 2004. Since then, she has stayed with CGI for almost 20 years.

Her commitment to CGI and the wider scope of government contracting has culminated in a monumental year for the enterprise, during which CGI secured numerous contracts and received multiple authorizations that expanded the availability of its technology within federal markets.

In February of last year, CGI booked a $250 million Department of Justice blanket purchase agreement to upgrade the agency’s Unified Financial Management System and Unified Asset Management programs, which are used to standardize and integrate business processes

Only a month later, CGI completed the implementation of its Momentum Java Cryptographic Module and Sunflower software into the systems, laying the foundation for future work under the BPA.

The company also received a five-year, $133.9 million initial task order to operate, manage and maintain the two DOJ systems.

“CGI’s deep departmental expertise, grounded on two decades of digital transformation and solution implementation, has provided us the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to the DOJ and its components,” Mango stated in the initial announcement.

Later that year, the Momentum software received Federal Information Processing Standards certification, which validated the program’s ability to handle sensitive data within federal systems. Prior to this approval, 190 federal organizations had already used the software to improve financial management processes.

The Department of the Treasury also embraced CGI’s offerings last year. In November, the enterprise became the first private sector organization approved to offer financial services in the agency’s new Financial Management Quality Service Management Office marketplace.

Alongside these successes, CGI received multiple contracts for its offerings outside of the financial management realm. In May, the organization was selected as one of 14 awardees of a $204 million Federal Communications Commission contract for project management, software development, documentation and programming.

Earlier, CGI booked a four-year, potential $34.4 million task order from the Marine Corps to implement its Marine Corps Platform Integration Center program into five bases. The program, which has already been adopted by three bases, enhances inventory management by digitally tagging equipment using automated identification technology and Internet of Things sensors.

As CGI carries this momentum into 2023, Mango’s leadership is expected to continue propelling the company forward.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Stephanie Mango and the CGI Federal team for their incredible year and another Wash100 recognition.
