A Jacobs business and CODE Plus, a Fairfax, Virginia-based woman-owned small business, will work to provide scientific and engineering support services to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, under a two-year, Mentor-Protege agreement.
Jacobs Space Exploration Group will serve as a mentor under NASA’s Mentor-Protege Program with a focus on helping CODE Plus build up its workforce and technical skills and establish relationships in both government and industry, the agency said Wednesday.
“As a small business, we’re excited to be part of this program, to become a NASA service provider and expand our capabilities in the space arena, and to increase our contracting presence here in Huntsville,” said Jinan Aboushakra, president and CEO of CODE Plus.
David Brock, program manager for the space agency’s Mentor-Protege Program, said NASA expects the partnership between the two companies to help strengthen the small business pool in Huntsville and the country’s spaceflight industry.
Jacobs has signed five mentor-protege agreements since 2008.
