Rob Stein, Salesforce NA Public Sector Head, Gains 2023 Wash100 Recognition for IT Sales Leadership - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Executive Mosaic is pleased to induct Rob Stein, senior vice president of Salesforce‘s North American public sector business, into the 2023 Wash100 in recognition of his leadership in driving the company’s information technology sales strategy in the government market.

“Rob is a seasoned leader and expert technologist for software-as-a-service companies and applications. Following NetApp, he landed in the perfect position as an obvious choice to lead the rapidly growing public sector market,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and creator of the Wash100 Award. “We’re ecstatic to name Rob, an accomplished executive sales leader, to this year’s Wash100.”

Stein joined Salesforce in 2019 after spending nearly 12 years at cloud data management company NetApp, where he previously led sales, marketing and customer engagement efforts for the U.S. public sector. The Washington University graduate served on the board of directors of the Professional Services Council from 2017 to 2019. Earlier in his career, Stein worked as VP of sales at Oracle and business development manager at EDO.

The first-time Wash100 honoree participated in an October 2022 Institute for Excellence in Sales podcast to share his perspective on the importance of workforce diversity and allyship in the sales field.

“I look at the role of an ally across the entire employee life cycle, from hiring, to being an impactful employee, to promotion and development. I try to show up in all aspects of that life cycle,” Stein said during the podcast interview.

“This topic is important to me in particular because allies play a pivotal role in shifting mindsets, challenging behaviors, and fostering an inclusive culture that makes positive outcomes possible,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post.

Salesforce has observed an increasing demand for digital tools across the federal government to streamline the delivery of agency services to the public.

In an August 2022 report, the company revealed that emerging technology such as artificial intelligence and online services like social media present opportunities for agencies to engage with constituents. The Salesforce Connected Government Report identified transparency as the most important attribute in rebuilding trust in the government, followed by ease of engagement and accessibility.

A Dec. 20 blog post from Salesforce’s public sector organization predicted sustainability practices, cybersecurity, collaboration tools and constituent-centered design as among the key sector trends for 2023.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Rob Stein and the Salesforce team on their selection to receive the 2023 Wash100 Award. The Wash100, now in its 10th year, represents a prestigious group of public and private sector leaders demonstrating vision, achievement and innovation at their organization. Don’t forget to cast a vote for your favorite winner from this year’s class by April 28!
