The Naval Air Systems Command is seeking potential sources of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and engineering services for unmanned aircraft systems as part of U.S. Coast Guard training requirements.
The U.S. Navy stated in a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday that NAVAIR is looking for sensor, voice and data communications and metadata collection functions to support Defense Department and Coast Guard exercise drills.
System requirements include two unmanned aerial vehicles and two ground control stations, electro-optical and infrared sensors, full-motion video capture functions, launch and recovery capability within 1,000 feet and operational readiness within a short time frame.
Services include UAS management and supervision and equipment installation, the notice reads.
The Navy said it plans to release the potential solicitation in May for up to five years of training and engineering support at various Coast Guard exercise ranges around the U.S.
The service will accept responses to the “sources sought” notice through March 11.
