BAE Systems has secured a six-year, $48.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to enhance a company-built system used to support real-world operations via analytics, open systems frameworks and enhanced capabilities. The research and development effort for the BAE Systems Insight System aligns with the Insight Integration initiative, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The U.S. Navy awarded BAE Systems a five-year, $92 million follow-on contract for fleet services, software development and technical support to the branch's Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems Operations Onboard Navy Ship and Shore Based Sites. BAE's services are expected to benefit the air traffic control and landing systems of the Navy as well as the Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command.

A BAE Systems business has won an $86.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy for engineering and technical services in support of systems used by the service branch, Special Operations Forces, homeland security, defense and non-Department of Defense organizations. The DOD said Thursday that services are for command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems and platforms.

Mack Defense has selected BAE Systems to provide an alternative propulsion system for use on prototypes for the U.S. Army’s Common Tactical Truck program. “The U.S. Army requested industry to provide solutions to maximize operational efficiency of the Common Tactical Truck in areas such as fuel demand reduction in order to help inform the final requirements for the program,” David Hartzell, president of Mack Defense, said in a statement published Tuesday.

BAE said Monday its military simulation environments leverage the Red Hat OpenShift container platform and The Weather Company's experience in integrating weather data with the Department of Defense's frameworks.
