The public policy think tank Center for Security and Emerging Technology has found some differences and overlaps in the research agenda at six U.S. technology companies that pursue artificial intelligence and machine learning programs. CSET's "Mapping Research Agendas in U.S. Corporate AI Laboratories" report offers a look at AI/ML research topic areas prioritized by IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Apple and Facebook.

Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Facebook announced that they have expanded their group with the addition of new partners and met with representatives from the Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the FBI to discuss efforts to protect the upcoming presidential elections from disinformation campaigns and foreign interference, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
