A joint venture between Octo and Metric5 won a five-year, $63 million contract to develop information technology applications for the Department of the Treasury's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Octo said Tuesday it will help TTB manage the bureau's IT platforms, server and database, configure apps and analyze business processes under the DevOps - Software Development Services contract.

Octo has partnered with QinetiQ on the RS3 92 Situational Awareness and Augmented Reality Technologies contract to deliver machine learning (ML) and deep learning capabilities in support of the U.S. Army’s Integrated Visual Augmentation System program (IVAS). “Winning contracts like IVAS is part of our focus on emerging technologies as a means of helping the government leverage these newly available solutions to maximize mission effectiveness,” said Mehul Sanghani, CEO of Octo.

Octo has appointed Letitia “Tish” Long, a former director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and a two-time Wash100 Award recipient, to the company's board of directors. Long's appointment will place greater focus on the Intelligence Community (IC) as Octo's core customer. “Having Long on our Board of Directors is a massive boon to our ability to understand and support the Intelligence Community,” said Mehul Sanghani, CEO of Octo.

Reston, Virginia-based information technology contractor Octo has merged with software development firm Sevatec in a deal of an undisclosed sum to create a combined entity that will focus on helping federal government customers to address IT modernization goals. Baird and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman served as Sevatec's financial and legal advisers on the transaction, respectively, while Sheppard Mullin acted as Octo's legal adviser.
