David Young, CenturyLink’s senior vice president for strategic government, told FCW in an interview published Friday that the company expects agencies to start awarding task orders soon to contractors with authority to operate under the General Services Administration’s 15-year, $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions vehicle. David Young, senior vice president of strategic government at CenturyLink, has said he believes a delay in agencies’ issuance of solicitations under the $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract for telecommunications services due to the partial government shutdown does not affect the transition goal for the EIS vehicle, FCW reported Thursday. In December, the General Services Administration decided to extend until 2023 existing telecom support contracts, which are set to expire in 2020, to provide agencies enough time to transition to the EIS vehicle.
