TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 17, 2021 — Ernst & Young's government and public sector group has named two-decade management consulting services veteran Alexandra Gurney as leader of federal civilian and security accounts, GovCon Wire reported Feb. 4.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has enlisted the help of Ernst & Young to simplify the agency's financial management processes through the implementation of robotics process automation technology, Federal News Network reported Monday. Irv Dennis, chief financial officer of HUD and a 36-year EY veteran, said the partnership used RPA to shorten a manual process from 2.6K hours to 65.

NuWave Solutions has acquired BigBear, a cloud-based, big data analytics company that provides solutions to the national security community, NuWave reported on Thursday. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. "BigBear's data and analytics solutions bolster our existing capabilities to address the entire spectrum of information superiority," said Reggie Brothers, CEO of NuWave and a GovCon Expert. 

Jared Shepard, chief executive officer with Intelligent Waves, has been named as an Ernst & Young (EY US) Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 Mid-Atlantic Award finalists for his innovation and growth throughout the company, Intelligent Waves announced Thursday.

The Defense Health Agency has exercised the fourth option of a potential five-year, $61.2M audit readiness support contract with Ernst & Young. The all-stock merger between L3 Technologies and Harris Corp. has been completed to form L3Harris Technologies (LHX), the new company announced on Monday. L3Harris is officially the sixth largest defense company in the United States worth approximately $17 billion in revenue with over 50,000 employees. The company also announced the details regarding its own leadership, the board of directors and organizational structure.

Ernst & Young and identity management company SailPoint Technologies have partnered in a move to help joint customers secure digital identities across the organization. EY said Thursday it will integrate cyber managed services with a technology offering SailPoint designed for use on premises or in cloud computing environments to address clients' identity governance requirements.
