The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Accenture Federal Services a spot on a potential five-year, $49 million indefinite/delivery-indefinite/quantity contract to provide intelligent automation and artificial intelligence (IAAI) services for HHS’ Program Support Center (PSC), Accenture Federal Services announced on Wednesday.

Shamlan Siddiqi, chief technology officer of NTT DATA’s public sector business, has said the federal government should advance information technology modernization in order to meet the needs and expectations of citizens. He wrote in a white paper that IT modernization is now a necessity and government agencies should plan for that modernization effort by focusing on six areas: data and intelligence; customer experience; internet of things; intelligent automation; cybersecurity; and IT optimization.

CGI Federal has secured a potential five-year, $72 million award to modernize a healthcare system for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Under the single award, firm-fixed price contract, CGI will work to transform plan enrollment and compliance processes for hundreds of private health and drug plans supported by the agency’s Health Plan Management System, the Fairfax, Virginia-based company said Tuesday.
