The Aerospace Corporation moved its corporate headquarters to the Washington, D.C., area effective March 21. The location in Chantilly, Virginia, is closer to key customers and stakeholders, Aerospace said Thursday. There is also a plan to invest $100 million in its former HQ at the El Segundo campus in California.
MoreGE Aerospace intends to invest $650 million this year to upgrade its manufacturing facilities and strengthen its supply chain. The General Electric operating unit said Tuesday that, of that total, $450 million will be allocated for the enhancement of 22 facilities across the U.S., an effort that includes the acquisition of additive manufacturing equipment and other machines and tools that will be used to assemble, test and produce engines for military and commercial aircraft.
MoreRay Munoz, formerly a board member and chief executive officer of Safran Data Systems, has been named CEO of Spectra Aerospace & Defense, a Georgia-based producer of advanced rugged electronics services for aerospace and defense platforms. Spectra said Monday that Munoz brings to the role 25 years of leadership experience in the international aerospace and defense markets and technical experience from his over five years of military service in the U.S. Navy.

The award is the latest issued within fiscal year 2024 by the Defense Production Act Investment Program, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Ball Aerospace said Wednesday that MethaneSAT's instruments will make it possible to track methane emissions at a regional level as well as at the level of individual sources, complementing current capabilities that focus on either scale or precision.
MoreRTX's Collins Aerospace subsidiary and partners ILC Dover and Oceaneering have completed the crew capability assessment test on next-generation spacesuits developed for NASA astronauts on the International Space Station. During the test, the spacesuits went through a series of demonstrations in a manufactured zero-gravity environment onboard an aircraft, RTX said Wednesday.
MoreRTC Aerospace, a portfolio company of private equity firm Stellex Capital Management, has acquired Vanderhorst Brothers Industries, a Simi Valley, California-based manufacturer of precision aerospace parts. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed but RTC said Tuesday the deal will expand its product portfolios and capabilities to produce high-precision components for aerospace and defense applications.
MoreEvercore, a New York-based global independent investment banking advisory firm, has released a monthly update highlighting previous and ongoing transactions it has supported in the aerospace, defense and government services markets. According to the report, a copy of which was received by Executive Mosaic, Evercore advised several aerospace and defense clients on mergers and acquisitions, including Aerojet Rocketdyne on its $4.7 billion sale to L3Harris Technologies.

MorePaul Selva, a retired U.S. Air Force general, and retired space executive David Thompson have been appointed chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the board of trustees at The Aerospace Corp. Selva succeeds Stephanie O'Sullivan, who concluded her term on the board, while Thompson replaces Selva in the vice chairman role, the nonprofit corporation said Thursday.
