A joint venture between Fluor and BWX Technologies will continue to provide environmental management services at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Ohio under a potential $690 million contract extension awarded by the Department of Energy. "We believe that BWXT’s footprint at seven sites supporting the DOE’s Environmental Management mission demonstrates the breadth and depth of our company’s waste management, environmental remediation and site clean-up capabilities,” said Ken Camplin, president of BWXT’s nuclear services group.

Robert Smith, former vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin's radar and sensor systems unit, has joined BWX Technologies as president of government operations. BWXT said Monday Smith will oversee the company's nuclear business lines in the U.S. covering work for government customers such as the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration and NASA.
