General Dynamics' information technology division has launched a new accelerator program designed to advance digital engineering, advanced simulation and modeling and security monitoring for government systems. The Ember Digital Engineering Accelerator is the latest digital accelerator under the GDIT brand that aims to apply digital modeling and simulation to a military system's development and testing phase before moving to production, the company said Tuesday.

Combining data lakes and meshes will enable government agencies to align their data assets more efficiently in compliance with the executive order on artificial intelligence, said Dave Vennergrund, vice president of AI and data insights at General Dynamics Information Technology. He discussed the significance of information lakehouses to government initiatives enabled by AI and machine learning, and how they can help the development of trustworthy and secure AI.

The Defense Information Systems Agency has migrated approximately 200,000 end users to a secret cloud environment through the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions blanket purchase agreement. General Dynamics Information Technology announced the milestone in a LinkedIn post published Tuesday.

Christopher Brooks, a U.S. Air Force veteran, has been named vice president of enterprise information technology solutions for the air and space forces business area at General Dynamics' IT division, according to a recently published LinkedIn post. Brooks most recently served as chief of the Air Force's network integration division and head of the operations division at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

System High, a portfolio company of Enlightenment Capital, will provide integrated security support services to the Department of the Air Force under a subcontract from General Dynamics' information technology business unit. The company said Monday it will help the DAF secure mission-critical activities related to national security as part of the $4.5 billion Air Force Security Support Services multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract issued in February 2021.
