General Dynamics' electric boat subsidiary has christened PCU Idaho, the U.S. Navy's 26th Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, which is designed to support anti-submarine and surface ship warfare and special operations. Terry Stackley, the ship sponsor, performed the bottle break that christened the vessel, which is the first Navy submarine to be named after the state of Idaho, General Dynamics Electric Boat said in a LinkedIn post published Sunday.
