Google Cloud and SpaceX have teamed up to enable public sector agencies, companies and other organizations to deliver data, applications and cloud services to their teams that are operating at the network edge. SpaceX will establish Starlink ground stations within Google’s data centers to facilitate the delivery of data and applications to any location using Google Cloud and SpaceX’s constellation of more than 1,500 Starlink satellites as part of the partnership.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google“™s cloud segment, said the company has ramped up efforts to use its automated platforms to support the COVID-19 vaccination programs of state and local governments. Kurian said in a blog post published Monday that Google Cloud has deployed its Intelligent Vaccine Impact technology to help manage vaccination campaigns across the nation.

Intel and Google's cloud computing arm have joined a National Institutes of Health program that seeks to provide COVID-19 researchers access to biomedical data from underrepresented groups as part of efforts to improve population health. The NIH All of Us Research Program will make biomedical information available to researchers through the Researcher Workbench platform, which is powered by Intel Xeon Scalable processors and hosted on Google Cloud.

Google Cloud has entered into a five-year agreement with the Department of Energy (DOE) to provide access to a variety of Google Cloud technologies to help the department scale research efforts and drive innovation across DOE national labs and field sites, the company announced Thursday. "Our work with Google Cloud is helping us reduce the friction and pivot to innovation," said  Rocky Campione.
