An Idemia-developed algorithm has recorded over 95 percent accuracy during a Department of Homeland Security exercise aimed at assessing the capacity of facial recognition technology in identifying masked individuals. Idemia said Monday its algorithm also achieved a True Identification Rate of over 99.5 percent of subjects not wearing masks as part of the DHS Science and Technology Directorate“™s 2020 Biometric Technology Rally.
