The Pentaho platform earned an "Awardable" rating on the Tradewind Solutions Marketplace, following competitive processes aligned with federal requirements, the data management and analytics firm said Wednesday.

Intel’s foundry business will further advance the development and testing of chip tape-outs and prototypes under the third phase of the Department of Defense’s Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes-Commercial program. DOD awarded the RAMP-C program’s Phase 3 through the Strategic and Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems other transaction authority agreement, also known as S2MARTS OTA, with the National Security Technology Accelerator, Intel said Monday.

Northrop Grumman and SpaceX are working together on a classified satellite constellation for a U.S. intelligence agency to gather high-resolution Earth imagery and help improve the U.S. government's ability to monitor military and intelligence targets, Reuters reported Thursday. According to the report, SpaceX secured a potential $1.8 billion contract from the National Reconnaissance Office in 2021 for the classified satellite project.

According to Amy Spruill, senior vice president and managing director of U.S. regulated industries at SAP, a key element that differentiates robotic process automation from its artificial intelligence-powered counterpart is the level of autonomy and task specificity. “RPA is more about configuration and simple rules and is applied to specific, preconfigured tasks. Maxar Intelligence CEO Dan Smoot recently said that he is prioritizing the rollout of the WorldView Legion satellite constellation, which was supposed to begin launching in 2021. Legion is the next-generation imaging platform of Maxar Technologies, the parent organization of Maxar Intelligence, a division that specializes in satellite imagery. The constellation will comprise six satellites in all, with the first two set for launch in the next few weeks.

Intelsat CEO and Wash100 awardee David Wajsgras said in an interview that customers are already interested in buying capacity from the medium Earth orbit constellation that the satellite services provider intends to build. One of those potential customers is the U.S. government, which seeks to ensure global communications redundancy for civilian as well as military users via an additional network.

Susanne Hake, general manager of the U.S. government business at Maxar Intelligence, said the company intends to expand this year its network of electro-optical imaging satellites to meet the data requirements of government and commercial customers. According to Hake, Maxar Intelligence intends to triple its capacity to gather 30-centimeter imagery and increase revisit rates to up to 15 times each day by launching two WorldView Legion satellites with a plan to deploy another four spacecraft this year.

Lockheed Martin will collaborate with Intel and its newly launched standalone business Altera to build a sensor open systems architecture-based airborne electronic defense platform for the U.S. Navy's MH-60R multi-mission helicopter to support a program of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Lockheed said Monday it will use Altera's Multi-Chip Package for integration with the SOSA technology under the Stimulating Transition for Advanced Microelectronics Packaging program.
