Retired U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend has been selected as an advisory board member at MAG Aerospace, a provider of command, control, communication, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance offerings. He brings over 40 years of military experience to the company, having served in leadership positions in platoons, corps and joint task forces, the Fairfax, Virginia-based company announced on Thursday.

Derek Lewis, formerly director of strategy at uncrewed aircraft manufacturing company RapidFlight, has been named vice president of technical solutions at MAG Aerospace. Lewis said on LinkedIn on Wednesday that he brings over two decades of experience in the defense and aerospace industry to the role, with experience in organizational and technical leadership, program management and business development.

Full-spectrum joint domain command and control services provider MAG Aerospace has entered into a partnership with Idaho National Laboratory to secure cyber physical systems like critical infrastructure from cyber threats, with the ultimate aim of enhancing national security. Ball Aerospace will manage a concept study for the NASA Explorers Program to understand the magnetism of the sun and how it affects space, Earth and other planets.
