Science Applications International Corp. has received a potential seven-year, $494 million recompete contract to provide safety and mission assurance support services at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston and White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico. The Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract III covers safety, reliability, engineering and quality and software assurance support for NASA programs in deep space, including the Gateway lunar space station, Orion spacecraft and Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility, NASA said Friday.

Science Applications International Corp. booked approximately $284 million in contracts from the U.S. Intelligence Community between January and February. SAIC said Thursday the contract awards include work across the areas of data, engineering and artificial intelligence.

Science Applications International Corp. has acquired a satellite kit from the North America subsidiary of aerospace company GomSpace Group for integration into a specialized satellite. Components are in the process of being delivered to SAIC, with integration set for the second quarter of the current calendar year, GomSpace North America said Tuesday.

Steven Harrison, a U.S. Navy veteran, has been appointed vice president of undersea warfare and support at Science Applications International Corp. Harrison most recently served as VP of government affairs for the naval business unit at SAIC, where he oversaw business development, strategy and congressional engagement initiatives.

Gregory Fortier was appointed senior vice president of the Army business group at Science Applications International Corp., where he previously worked as a VP for over two years. He joined SAIC as vice president of its fires, aviation and missile defense business portfolio.

Science Applications International Corp. has secured a five-year, $80.5 million task order from the U.S. Navy to design, produce and deliver MK 710 torpedo system test sets for the submarine force. The MK 710 TSTS will be used to verify the integrity and operational readiness of MK 48 torpedos before their delivery to the service branch, SAIC said Thursday.
