Johnny Cochran, a retired U.S. Army colonel a former congressional fellow who provided advice and assistance to Sen. Mike Rounds, has been appointed to serve as vice president of strategic engagements at San Diego-based company Shield AI. Cochran formerly led the military's Close Combat Lethality Task Force and contributed a total of over 25 years to the Army.
MoreDefense technology company Shield AI has secured $90 million in a round of Series C equity and debt financing led by venture capital firm Point72 Ventures. The company will use the funds to further integrate into additional defense platforms its self-driving software, called Hivemind.

The vehicle-mounted Trakka Interceptor Package Solution or TIPS-C uses DroneShield's DroneSentry-C2 software to detect and track drones by providing a common operating picture within the local airspace, DroneShield said Monday.
