Vince Vlasho, a senior managing director and defense portfolio lead for Accenture Federal Services, wrote in an opinion piece published Tuesday on C4ISRNET that there are eight principles the U.S. military should consider in managing technology convergence and maintaining tech advantage in a multidomain battlefield and one is identifying objectives and capabilities needed to achieve them.

Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has been awarded a potential five-year, $89.5 million contract to establish a cloud-based common infrastructure for the U.S. Air Force's enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, the company announced Wednesday. AFS will manage the USAF's existing information technology (IT) infrastructure and support the service branch's development of a cloud-based platform to host its ERP functions.

Lauren Knausenberger has been appointed as the U.S. Air Force deputy chief information officer (CIO) to lead the service branch's enterprise IT policy and management office, succeeding Bill Marion, who retired from the Air Force as deputy CIO in April 2020. As deputy CIO, Knausenberger will command the SAF/CN office, leading the department's enterprise IT, cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives.
