Dave Calhoun, president and CEO of Boeing, will step down as chief executive of the Arlington, Virginia-based aerospace company at the end of 2024. Boeing announced on Monday a number of board and management changes including Calhoun's, Steve Mollenkopf's election to succeed Larry Kellner as board chair and Stephanie Pope's appointment as president and CEO of the company's commercial airplanes business.

The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing's defense, space and security division a contract modification involving the purchase of its 12th communication space vehicle under the Wideband Global Satellite Communication constellation. The changes bring the project's total value to $3 billion, with $439 million obligated to Boeing at the time of the award, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

Boeing is partnering with the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration to launch an initiative that aims to foster the development and use of sustainable aviation fuel among members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. The aerospace company said Thursday that the initiative seeks to address various challenges APEC countries might face in establishing or growing a market for SAF. These challenges include the production of the fuel itself and the formulation of policies underpinning SAF production and use.

Boeing has delivered to the U.S. Army the 100th unit of the Next Generation Automatic Test System, a mobile platform designed to quickly detect and isolate defects in electronic line replaceable units on M1 Abrams and M2 Bradley combat vehicles.
