Intel’s foundry business will further advance the development and testing of chip tape-outs and prototypes under the third phase of the Department of Defense’s Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes-Commercial program. DOD awarded the RAMP-C program’s Phase 3 through the Strategic and Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems other transaction authority agreement, also known as S2MARTS OTA, with the National Security Technology Accelerator, Intel said Monday.

BAE Systems Inc. has partnered with simulation software developer Ansys to streamline the adoption of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering approaches for security and defense applications within the Department of Defense. Ansys said Tuesday it will assist the customers of BAE in phasing out manual processes and implementing simulation methods and data management for DOD programs through the latter's Mission Advantage technology partnership program.

Google Distributed Cloud Hosted has received authorization to host Top Secret missions for the Department of Defense and Secret and Top Secret missions for the intelligence community. GDC Hosted is an air-gapped cloud offering from Google Public Sector that features data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and zero trust security, according to a Wednesday post on the Google Cloud blog.

According to Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch of Viasat, the commercial satellite communications industry views the inclusion of a $134 million line item for commercial satcom integration within the proposed fiscal year 2025 Pentagon budget as a positive development. "We're hopeful this means DoD is getting more serious about leveraging commercial capabilities," Viasat's senior vice president for government strategy and policy told SpaceNews in a recent interview.

A Palantir Technologies subsidiary has received an other transaction authority contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency to develop a planning tool prototype for the Department of Defense’s Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations. DISA said Friday that under the $9.8 million OTA, Palantir USG will work with the U.S. Strategic Command and the combatant command JEMSMO Cells to create the Electromagnetic Battle Management - Joint Decision Support prototype.

The Department of Defense’s artificial intelligence office has put out a call for three new opportunities for industry collaboration. The requests for proposals were posted to Tradewinds earlier this month and all center upon responsible AI usage, said Dr. Matthew Johnson, senior technical advisor at the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office.

Scale AI and the Department of Defense's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office have joined forces to establish a framework for testing and evaluating generative artificial intelligence. In a statement Tuesday, Alexandr Wang, founder and CEO of Scale AI, said, “Testing and evaluating generative AI will help the DOD understand the strengths and limitations of the technology, so it can be deployed responsibly.”
