Jeh Johnson, a partner at law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and former secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, has been appointed to offer advice and counsel to Vienna, Virginia-based private equity firm Enlightenment Capital. Johnson will rely on his over 30-year public and private sector experience to provide legal assistance to the Enlightenment Capital as part of the engagement agreement, the firm said Tuesday.

Washington, D.C.-based Enlightenment Capital has raised $250M in capital commitments for its third fund, exceeding the private investment firm's $200M target. The completion of Fund III will allow the company to continue to carry out its strategy to invest in middle-market firms in the aerospace, defense and government markets, Enlightenment Capital said Thursday.
