Scott Howell, former commander of the Joint Special Operations Command with more than three decades of military experience, has joined Peraton's advisory board. In a statement Tuesday, Stu Shea, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton and 2024 Wash100 winner, said, Howell “is an experienced leader who has led some of the most complex military operations around the globe and understands how to leverage all the sources of national power, including the key role of industry partners, to ensure mission success.”

Peraton has opened a new office in San Antonio, Texas, as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the state's technology community and strengthen collaboration with federal agencies, academia and local industry partners. "Peraton is thrilled to be a member of the San Antonio tech community where we can bring our experience as a mission capability integrator and long-time mission partner to further support the U.S. Air Force and the Intelligence Community," Tom Afferton, president of the cyber mission sector at Peraton, said in a statement published Friday.

Iron Bow Technologies and Peraton will collaborate to deliver advanced information technology and network services to the U.S. Special Operations Command under the latter company's previously awarded eight-year, $2.8 billion task order. Under the Special Operations Forces IT Enterprise Contract 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance task order, which Peraton received in November 2023, Iron Bow said Tuesday it will contribute to IT modernization initiatives, provide technology evaluation and innovation and support daily mission requirements.

Constantine Saab, managing director and chief technology officer at Valor Equity Partners, has joined the advisory board of Peraton. Saab, an 18-year CIA veteran, will provide strategic counsel to Peraton's senior leadership team on shaping the company's business goals and objectives, the company said Thursday.

Peraton has received the large business of the year award from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which acknowledges the company's dedication to supporting small businesses affiliated with JPL. The award is designated for a large business that actively supports JPL small business programs, exceptionally meets contractual obligations and engages in outreach events to promote small businesses aligned with NASA’s missions, Peraton said Friday.

Peraton will deliver information technology platform and network services to the U.S. Special Operations Command under a $2.8 billion Special Operations Forces IT Enterprise Contract 3 Enterprise Operations & Maintenance task order. The range of services includes the maintenance of network operations and providing end-user and common device support as well as configuration, change, license and asset management, the company said Wednesday.

Peraton will relocate its West Lafayette Research and Innovation Center from its current location in West Lafayette, Indiana, to a new space at the Purdue Applied Research Institute to expand research in support of national security missions. Chris Valentino, chief innovation officer at Peraton, heads the center, which operates under the Peraton Strategic Innovation Group to carry out applied research and development in areas such as cyber, quantum technologies, network virtualization and critical infrastructure protection, Peraton said Monday.

Peraton has announced the appointment of four new members of its advisory board. The company said Thursday that the appointments – all former government and military leaders – reflect its commitment to support national security missions of consequence.

Ken Sharp has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer at Peraton, a role in which he will oversee the company’s financial activities. He will succeed John Kavanaugh and report to Chairman, President and CEO Stu Shea, the Reston, Virginia-based enterprise announced on Monday.

Peraton was awarded a $24 million modification to its contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency for continued provision of imagery science expertise and infrastructure support. The award raises the Acadia contract overall value to $130 million and covers six months of services from Peraton to support the agency's image quality and integration testing missions.

Peraton's applied research arm will develop and demonstrate a new piece of technology designed to enable 5G dynamic spectrum sharing at the tactical edge to support military operations. The Flexible Spectrum Harvesting and Adaptive Reuse Enhancement tool will demonstrate bidirectional spectrum sharing between 5G radio access networks and military radars in the 3.1 to 3.55 GHz band, Peraton said Thursday.

Steven Irish was appointed vice president and general manager of defense enterprise and health solutions at Peraton. The executive was VP and general manager of financial and regulatory agencies at Perspecta for nearly three years before the company was acquired by Veritas Capital and integrated into its portfolio company Peraton.
