VMware announced on Thursday that the company has been selected by the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC) to empower soldiers to enable a software factory to utilize modern cloud technologies and DevSecOps practices as well as solve problems through agile and more secure software development processes. The Army Software Factory is the next evolution of the VMware-enabled Government Software Factory concept.


Jim Matney of General Dynamics“™ information technology business said ease of use, security and cost are the reasons why the addition of VMware and Amazon Web Services offerings to the Defense Information Systems Agency's milCloud 2.0 platform could help defense agencies accelerate the migration of workloads to the cloud, GCN reported Tuesday.


Lumen Technologies and VMware have expanded their partnership to increase design, development and delivery time of edge computing, as well as deliver more secure, work-from-anywhere systems. “The Lumen-VMware partnership will provide the exact combination required to transform business processes and customer experience,“ said Pat Gelsinger, chief executive officer of VMware.


VMware has elected technology executive, Ken Denman, to the company's board of directors. On the board, Denman will provide his expertise and leadership experience gained from serving in the technology sector. “Ken is an experienced technologist and corporate director with deep roots in software, mobile and AI technologies," said Paul Sagan, lead director, chair of the Compensation and Corporate Governance Committee.
