AI.Reverie Gets In-Q-Tel Investment for Computer Vision Simulation Platform

In-Q-Tel, the intelligence community’s venture capital arm, has made a strategic investment in AI.Reverie to further develop the latter company’s computer vision simulation platform designed to meet government agencies’ operational requirements. AI.Reverie’s platform is designed to create photorealistic virtual worlds to mimic real-time locations and provide automatically annotated synthetic data and various scenarios and objects to facilitate training of algorithms and artificial intelligence tools, IQT said Tuesday.

DHS to Host Three-Day Cybersecurity Conference

The Department of Homeland Security's science and technology directorate will host a three-day cybersecurity event that will kick off on March 18 in Washington, D.C. The 2019 S&T Cybersecurity and Innovation Showcase will allow technology professionals, government and industry stakeholders to view over 130 presentations on federally funded cyber research-and-development initiatives valued at $250M combined, DHS said Monday.

Sarcos, Navy to Evaluate Potential Use of Exoskeletons, Robots in Shipyard Operations

Sarcos Robotics and the U.S. Navy have teamed up to assess and field exoskeleton technologies and robots at naval shipyards to perform inspection and handling operations. The company said Monday it will work with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility to rate and deploy its Guardian XO full-body exoskeleton and Guardian S inspection robot.
