Leidos will assist the Transportation Security Authority in equipping all U.S. federalized airports with checkpoint screening equipment under a $470.7 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The company said Wednesday its prime contract for Transportation Screening Equipment deployment services covers installation, relocation and removal activities for airport scanners as well as provision of on-site coordination and design support.

As prime contractor, Leidos is also required to conduct surveys and provide security support for special and spectator events and international efforts.

Vicki Schmanske, president of Leidos’ intelligence group, has underscored the company’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the U.S. transportation system. She said Leidos will continuously help TSA deploy checkpoint screening-related capabilities and technologies.

Leidos has over a decade of experience in supporting the agency’s TSE deployment effort.

According to the company, it conducts work through the Transportation Security Equipment Deployment Services and the Security Equipment and Systems Integration contracts. It also maintains scanning equipment under the Integrated Logistics Support contract.
