Collins Aerospace to Provide Rescue Hoist Tech for California Aerial Firefighting Helicopters

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has selected United Technologies Corp.'s Collins Aerospace unit to provide a rescue hoist technology to be used on a fleet of S-70i Firehawk helicopters. Collins Aerospace Updates Ejection Seat for Air Force Bomber Aircraft Safety Program

United Technologies Corp.'s Collins Aerospace business has reviewed the safety features of an updated ACES II aircraft ejection seat and is set to begin deliveries to the U.S. Air Force this summer. Collins Aerospace said Tuesday it estimates the new seating technology will help technicians cut the maintenance time for B-2 bomber planes from 720 hours to just two hours.
