Brian Conrad, a cloud computing and cybersecurity expert, has joined Zscaler as director of global compliance and authorizing authority liaison. He will bring to the role his extensive experience in the military, federal government and industry to help the company's clients meet compliance priorities and advance zero trust implementation in support of their digital transformation goals, Zscaler said in a news release published April 4.

BAE Systems Inc. has partnered with simulation software developer Ansys to streamline the adoption of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering approaches for security and defense applications within the Department of Defense. Ansys said Tuesday it will assist the customers of BAE in phasing out manual processes and implementing simulation methods and data management for DOD programs through the latter's Mission Advantage technology partnership program.

The U.S. Navy has awarded CACI International a potential five-year, $59.9 million contract to operate and integrate information operations payloads into unmanned aerial vehicles supplied to joint forces. The sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a three-year base term valued at approximately $37.5 million and a two-year option period that could bring the ceiling amount to $59.9 million, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Leidos has secured a one-year, $13.7 million contract from the U.S. Army National Guard to provide aviation institutional training and operations support. The award covers flight and simulation training, classroom instruction and information technology support, the Reston, Virginia-based company said Tuesday.

Lumen Technologies has booked a task order valued at over $73.6 million from the Government Accountability Office. Under the award, Lumen will support the office’s goal to help Congress and the public by upgrading its network, data and voice connectivity, the company announced from Washington, D.C. on Thursday.

Trellix has achieved authorization to deliver its cybersecurity offering to Google Cloud's customers as part of the Google Cloud Partner Advantage program's Build Engagement Model category. Under the partnership program, Trellix will offer its Helix threat detection and response platform and Email Security tool to protect Google Workplace-based emails against phishing, ransomware and attachment-based attacks, the company said Tuesday.

Salesforce has unveiled Public Sector Einstein 1 for Service, a software platform that hosts various artificial intelligence-powered capabilities that work to automate administrative tasks. Salesforce said Wednesday that the new product is based on its Einstein 1 platform and is meant for use by government workers.

MetTel was awarded a potential five-year, $60 million contract under the General Services Administration Schedule 70 acquisition vehicle to provide the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau with mobility services, ExecutiveBiz has learned. Optical and space technologies developer ARKA has invested $85 million in expanding its Danbury, Connecticut, facility by 14,000 square feet. The expansion, spanning over two years, is aimed at bolstering the production of smallsat systems, payloads and optical coating capabilities as well as enabling multi-shift payload production.
