The Air Force Materiel Command has issued a request for information for the follow-on to the North American Aerospace Defense Command Cheyenne Mountain Complex – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment and Space Support Contract II, or NISSC II. The government intends to move the contract from a single engineering sustainment model to one "that supports tailored work efforts focused on software development, security, and operations; integration; and lifecycle sustainment," according to the RFI posted Tuesday on SAM.gov.

The U.S. Department of State has approved a request by the Ukrainian government to acquire articles and services related to the sustainment of the HAWK Phase III missile system. The $138 million foreign military sale covers spare parts, test and support equipment, tool kits, missile recertification components, engineering and integration, refurbishment and system overhaul, logistics and program support and contractor technical and field office support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.

William Scott, formerly deputy vice president of range systems at General Dynamics' Mission Systems business, announced on LinkedIn Friday that he has joined Ultra as vice president of programs at the company's maritime division. Scott first joined GDMS in 2007 and stayed with the company until 2016. During that period, he held multiple roles, including systems engineering technical manager, Littoral Combat Ship program manager, and later, LCS senior program manager.

Hughes Network Systems has secured a contract from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. to produce the initial units of an advanced modem designed to enhance the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability of the MQ-1C Gray Eagle 25M unmanned aircraft system. The EchoStar company said Monday it received the contract after completing the development phase and is set to commence deliveries of the HM400T modems in the spring.

BlueHalo has secured a four-year logistics support contract to help the U.S. Army manage and maintain its laser weapon system designed to defend forces and critical infrastructure against threats from small unmanned aircraft systems. The company said Monday it will serve as the full-cycle lead system integrator overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance and operator and maintenance team training for the Army's Palletized High Energy Laser system.

Raytheon, a subsidiary of RTX, has concluded the thermal vacuum testing of the final Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite instrument that will be used on the Joint Polar Satellite System of NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The company said Monday the fourth VIIRS instrument has proceeded to environmental testing after undergoing thermal vacuum tests in late 2023 and ahead of its integration into the JPSS environmental satellite system this year.
