The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has awarded a grant worth $18.6 million to Princeton University and technology company EnCharge AI, which have partnered on a multi-year project under DARPA's Optimum Processing Technology Inside Memory Arrays program. The $78 million OPTIMA program seeks to develop compute-in-memory accelerators for the handling of artificial intelligence workloads relevant to defense, EnCharge AI said Wednesday.

IBM has launched a cyber range that will offer custom training exercises to help federal agencies and critical infrastructure organizations respond to cyberattacks and threats posed by artificial intelligence. The company said Wednesday facilitators at the IBM X-Force Cyber Range will guide participants from agencies and companies through a series of breach scenarios and help them navigate resource issues, communication breakdowns and incident reporting requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission, among others.

Software company Calabrio has announced the availability of Calabrio GovSuite for customers in the federal government. Calabrio GovSuite is a cloud-based contact center offering that has been given moderate authorization under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, Calabrio said Tuesday.

Mattermost has developed four new chat operations features aimed at enhancing real-time mission intelligence sharing for the U.S. Air Force 618th Air Operations Center. The California-based company said Tuesday the culmination of the 18-month development effort marks the fulfillment of the $750,000 Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract it previously received through the AFWERX program.

Axonius, a cybersecurity asset management platforms provider, has raised $200 million in a Series E extension financing round and will use the capital to accelerate product innovation and expand its reach worldwide. Existing investor Stripes took part in the latest funding round led by venture capital firms Accel and Lightspeed Venture Partners, Axonius said Tuesday.
