L3Harris Technologies has concluded a three-month demonstration of a multi-band, multi-mission digital beamforming phased array antenna system prototype in support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's satellite data management efforts. During the test, the DPAAS prototype technology handled an average of more than 300 daily satellite contacts and showcased its ability to support multiple simultaneous contacts with near-zero downtime amid the harsh weather conditions in Alaska, L3Harris said Friday.

Finnish hyperspectral imaging company Kuva Space has entered the U.S. government market by establishing a new business arm headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, to provide Earth observation data and services to federal customers. Jerry Welsh, former CEO of the U.S. arm of satellite technology provider ICEYE, has been appointed to the board of directors of Kuva Space U.S. and will oversee the company's expansion efforts in the U.S. public sector, Kuva Space said Wednesday.

Federal agencies can now buy Actus, a cloud-based government purchase card management platform from Paperless Innovations, using a special item number under the General Services Administration’s Multiple Award Schedule contract. Paperless Innovations said Tuesday it has been awarded the Financial Management SIN under the MAS contract, allowing it to offer Actus to help federal government customers modernize and advance the digitization of their workflows, records management and internal controls.

General Dynamics' mission systems business has booked a five-year, $82.8 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy for the continued procurement, manufacturing, testing and delivery of AN/USC-61(C) Digital Modular Radio systems. Microsoft has added its Azure OpenAI service to its Azure Government cloud services platform, said Candice Ling, Microsoft Federal's vice president of strategic missions and technologies and winner of the Wash100 Award. In an article posted Tuesday, Ling said the company intends to apply for FedRAMP High certification as well as Department of Defense Impact Level 4 and 5 authorizations for Azure OpenAI.
