Intelsat CEO David Wajsgras recently said that his company is considering an investment in a medium-Earth orbit constellation and intends to make a decision regarding the effort before the end of the second quarter. Wajsgras, a former Wash100 awardee, made the remarks at the SATELLITE 2024 conference, where he noted that, if Intelsat proceeds with the MEO investment, other parties may provide outside financial support.

CGI Federal has secured a potential five-year, $72 million award to modernize a healthcare system for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Under the single award, firm-fixed price contract, CGI will work to transform plan enrollment and compliance processes for hundreds of private health and drug plans supported by the agency’s Health Plan Management System, the Fairfax, Virginia-based company said Tuesday.

The space systems business of Maxar Technologies is gearing up to deploy the satellites it built to bolster the constellation capacity of Maxar Intelligence. Apple is reportedly in discussion with Google to license and build the latter's Gemini engine, a set of generative artificial intelligence models, into new iPhone software features. The negotiations come as Apple prepares new generative AI capabilities for the next version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 18, including functions for writing essays and creating images based on simple prompts.
