The Space Systems Command has issued a request for information as part of a strategy to establish an integrated satellite network with space-based environmental monitoring capabilities that would provide terrestrial and space weather data to meet Department of Defense forecasting needs. Rocket Lab's U.S. subsidiary has deployed two satellites to different orbits approximately 500 km apart using its Electron rocket for NASA and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Electron's 47th mission lifted off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand, carrying the NEONSAT-1 payload developed by KAIST and the Advanced Composite Solar Sail System from NASA, Rocket Lab USA said Tuesday.

Oshkosh's defense business unit has secured a $40 million contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command to build and deliver Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires carriers for use in the service branch's ground-based, anti-ship missile launcher. The delivery order covers the procurement of the ROGUE-Fires carriers in support of the Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

BeyondTrust has secured a moderate authority to operate certification under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program for a cloud-based platform designed to provide remote support and privileged remote access for protection against advanced cyberattacks. The company said Monday the Secure Remote Access service is now available to federal clients on the FedRAMP marketplace along with other approved cloud service offerings.
