Sunflower is a tool for agencies to manage their information technology assets as well as federal and personal properties more efficiently, using standardized software, CGI Federal said Thursday.

Antoine Harden, former head of public sector for health care and life sciences at Google, has been named regional vice president of federal health care and federal civilian at Elastic, according to a LinkedIn post published Thursday. He joined the search and analytics engine provider following a nearly four-year career at Google, where he supported the mission objectives of federal civilian customers, including NASA and the Department of Energy.

General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business used an MQ-20 Avenger unmanned aircraft to demonstrate its open standards-based autonomy architecture for unmanned combat air vehicles and a U.S. government-owned communications capability, dubbed Waveform X, during a flight test in November. The live test flight held at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc.’s flight operations facility in El Mirage, California, used three L3Harris Technologies-built software-defined radios to support command and control, line of sight and data movement capabilities through the nonproprietary Waveform X platform, the company said Tuesday.

RTC Aerospace, a portfolio company of private equity firm Stellex Capital Management, has acquired Vanderhorst Brothers Industries, a Simi Valley, California-based manufacturer of precision aerospace parts. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed but RTC said Tuesday the deal will expand its product portfolios and capabilities to produce high-precision components for aerospace and defense applications.
