A new report by Deloitte’s Center for Government Insights has identified eight trends that could enable a tenfold improvement in government outcomes and one is that advances in artificial intelligence, including generative AI, could result in increased productivity in the public sector. The Government Trends 2024 report suggested that governments should establish a foundation of data, cloud, processes and other digital capabilities before testing and scaling AI applications.

Elizabeth Lukas of artificial intelligence company AutogenAI sees a growing expectation in the broader industry that companies should respond quickly to procurement opportunities, an expectation that, Lukas believes, will spread into the government contracting space. Adopting AI would allow contractors to meet this expectation because the technology enables organizations to respond to more bids within timeframes that are likely to become shorter and tighter, the CEO of AutogenAI's Americas business says in an opinion column published Monday.

Beyond New Horizons, a joint venture between engineering consultancy business Astrion and engineering and construction company Fluor, has been awarded the Test Operations and Sustainment II contract by the U.S. Air Force. Worth more than $3.7 billion, TOS II calls on BNH to provide support for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Astrion said Monday.

Mayur Ahuja announced on LinkedIn Monday his promotion to division vice president and deputy program manager of the Johnson Space Center Engineering, Technology and Science contract at Jacobs, transitioning from his role as director of engineering of JETS. Ahuja initially joined Jacobs in 2005 and stayed with the company for eight years. During that term, he served as facility configuration manager, then manager of the avionics, biomedical robotics and astromaterials group and deputy director of engineering for the JETS contract.

ECS, through its wholly owned subsidiary Iron Vine Security, will provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with comprehensive cybersecurity support under a $120 million award. The CMS Cybersecurity Integration Center Operations contract will extend ECS' support for the agency and the CMS Healthcare Marketplace through 2029, the company said Tuesday.
