Serco Group‘s Americas division has won a potential seven-year, $70 million contract from the U.S. Navy to develop integrated systems, networks and supporting infrastructure for Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract includes cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price orders for engineering, technical and management support services, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Herndon, Virginia-based Serco Inc. will work on electronic systems designed for air traffic control; meteorology and oceanography; and aviation command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

The IDIQ award has a five-year base ordering period worth potentially $49 million and would reach its potential value if the service exercises a two-year option period.

The Navy will obligate $25,000 in working capital funds at the time of award.

Serco beat two other bidders for the contract through a full and open competition hosted on Naval Information Warfare Systems Command Electronic Commerce Central and SAM websites.
