Lockheed Gets $64M USAF Contract to Update F-16 Software for Foreign Countries


Lockheed Martin has received a $64.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to update F-16 mission planning software used by foreign military sales customers. The company will develop, integrate, test and deliver software updates for the F-16 aircraft's Mission Planning System Unique Planning Component/Mission Planning Environment, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Air Force Life Cycle Management Center seeks market information on signal and geospatial intelligence technologies that would transmit information to support rapid targeting. AFLCMC said Monday in a SAM notice that it requires these on-platform SIGINT and GEOINT technologies to address requirements under the country's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Dominance Flight Plan and National Defense Strategy.

USAF Posts Maritime Strike Weapon RFI

The U.S. Air Force has issued a request for information on the availability of kinetic systems that could engage maritime surface vessels. An RFI notice posted Thursday says the AF Life Cycle Management Center's armament systems development division will collect and use industry input to plan a trade space analysis of maritime strike weapons.
