Collins Aerospace’s Satcom Antenna Facilitates Data Transmission for Iridium Satellite During Test

Collins Aerospace has completed a data transfer test between its airborne satellite communications platform with a high gain antenna and an Iridium satellite in orbit. Collins Aerospace said Monday it achieved the second milestone in ongoing work on Iridium Certus airborne satellite communications equipment following a similar demonstration of its active low gain antenna in August of last year.

Collins Aerospace Marks ARC-210 Airborne Satcom Radio’s Delivery Milestone

Collins Aerospace , a Raytheon Technologies business, has delivered the 50,000th software-defined airborne radio under the ARC-210 program to Naval Air Systems Command's air combat electronics unit. NAVAIR has been the program's key customer since 1990 and has used the multiband, multimode communication radio to send mission-critical information over the years, the company said Thursday.

Collins Aerospace Records Delivery Milestone for THAAD Thrust Vector Actuation System

Collins Aerospace, a company of Raytheon Technologies, has manufactured the 600th Thrust Vector Actuation (TVA) System for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system. The company said Thursday the TVA is an all-electric component that has guided all of THAAD's live fire intercept activities so far. The component has also demonstrated capabilities needed for future missile weapon systems.

DARPA Announces Research Teams for Wideband Adaptive RF Protection Program

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has named the research teams that will work on a program that seeks to develop technologies that could help mitigate interference for wideband radio frequency systems. The selected teams that will work on the Wideband Adaptive RF Protection program are BAE Systems, Raytheon Technologies and its Collins Aerospace business, Northrop Grumman, Indiana Microelectronics, L3Harris Technologies, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Collins Aerospace to Provide Gearbox Repair Materiel for USAF F-16, B-2 Aircraft

Collins Aerospace, part of Raytheon Technologies, has secured a decade-long, $34 million contract for resources that would help the Defense Logistics Agency repair gearboxes of the U.S. Air Force's F-16 and B-2 aircraft. The contractor said Wednesday it will perform supply chain management and manufacturing services for the gearboxes, which allow an aircraft's transmission system to shift rotational speeds.
