NASA Seeks Feedback on Draft Requirements for Advanced Enterprise Global IT Solutions Contract

NASA has asked industry for comments on its proposed requirements as it develops a solicitation for the acquisition of telecommunications systems and services in support of the mission of the agency’s office of the chief information officer. A request for information posted Tuesday says NASA is developing a solicitation for the Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology Solutions contract, which seeks to increase the use of network automation and automated segmentation, improve mission management and achieve cost-effective and flexible communications services.

Robert Patterson, senior executive director of global law enforcement at AT&T's public sector solutions business, has said the FirstNet communications service could be a "game changer" for the way public safety personnel conduct rescue and recovery missions. He wrote in a GCN guest piece published Tuesday the nationwide broadband network offers push-to-talk features that allow agencies to collaborate to help enforce the law and address public safety concerns.

AT&T, Mutualink Forge Public Safety Comms Interoperability Partnership; Chris Sambar Quoted

AT&T and Mutualink have entered into an agreement to facilitate communications interoperability for first responders and other public safety personnel. AT&T said Thursday it will add Mutualink’s Interoperable Response and Preparedness Platform to the FirstNet public safety broadband network under the partnership to help users accelerate sharing of data, voice and video across systems.
