Sierra Nevada Gets DIU Contract to Design Autonomous Space Outpost


The Defense Innovation Unit has awarded Sierra Nevada Corp. a contract to create an unmanned orbital outpost prototype based on the company's space transport vehicle design. SNC said Tuesday it will repurpose the 16-foot Shooting Star hardware that was originally designed to function as a Dream Chaser spaceplane attachment under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services 2 program.

Respond Software to Create Automated Cybersecurity Tech Prototype for Air Force

The Defense of Defense's innovation arm has selected Respond Software to develop a system for automating the process to monitor and analyze potential cybersecurity threats on the U.S. Air Force network. Respond Software said Wednesday it will create a prototype of the Intelligent Decision Automation Platform to support USAF's cyber defense operations as the military branch aims to cut reliance on single-purpose and labor-intensive systems.
