Jerry McGinn, executive director of the Center for Government Contracting at George Mason University’s School of Business, said the federal government is implementing an “all-of-the-above” approach to procurement as it responds to the coronavirus pandemic, the Washington Business Journal reported Monday. “They are doing [Other Transaction Authorities], they are doing contract ramping, commercial production, they are doing things like the Defense Production Act, so lots of different efforts,” McGinn said of federal agencies.

Air Force Research Lab Unveils Two-Pronged Contracting Approach for Production Tech Projects

The Air Force Research Laboratory has introduced a two-part strategy to collect proposals on research and development of technology platforms intended to address defense manufacturing challenges. AFRL said Tuesday the hybrid funding opportunity announcement approach offers an alternative contracting method for the Defense Production Act Title III Program, which aims to help industry manage the supply of goods and materials needed to produce military systems.
