Army Exercises Option on AeroVironment Loitering Munition Contract

AeroVironment will supply additional tactical missile systems to the U.S. Army and a foreign military sales customer under a two-year, $45 million contract. The exercised option is for the Switchblade 300 deployable loitering munitions, designed to engage targets beyond the line of sight, and the award is part of the potential $146 million Lethal Miniature Aerial Missile Systems contract announced in May 2020, AeroVironment said Tuesday.

Study: Nearly Half of Contractors Expect Growth Opportunities With DOD Cybersecurity Compliance

Almost 50 percent of contractors told a joint survey by Apptega and SecureStrux they forecast that completing the Department of Defense's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program would open up new opportunities for business growth. Data from the CMMC Preparation Study, published Tuesday, showed that two-thirds of participants believe their organizations could build a competitive advantage by accelerating efforts toward achieving CMMC compliance.
