Zscaler Report Finds 260% Rise in Attacks via Encrypted Channels; Deepen Desai Quoted

A new report from Zscaler has found a 260 percent increase in encryption-based threats during the first nine months of 2020. Zscaler’s threat research team analyzed 6.6B encrypted threats delivered through Secure Sockets Layer channels between January and September and found that health care was the most targeted industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by finance and insurance, manufacturing, government and services sectors.

Viasat Partners With AeroVironment Under Army Contract to Advance UAS Platforms

Viasat has partnered with AeroVironment to enable flying small UAS platforms to deploy a robust, on-demand, highly-secure communications network under a contract awarded under the U.S. Army Reconfigurable Communications for Small Unmanned Systems (RCSUS) initiative, Viasat reported on Thursday. Viasat will work with AeroVironment to develop and demonstrate advanced, encrypted communications for AeroVironment's portable, hand-launched Puma AE tactical UAS.

Carahsoft to Resell Keeper Security Platform Through Government Contracts

Carahsoft has agreed to distribute Keeper Security' password management and encryption platform to public sector agencies via three government contracting vehicles and reseller partners. Agencies can procure the cybersecurity offering from Carahsoft through NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement V contract and procurement vehicles managed by the National Association of State Procurement Officials and National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance, the company said Tuesday.

Intel’s David Hoffman: Government, Industry Should Collaborate on National AI Strategy
