Honeywell Receives DISA Security Certification for Rugged Mobile Computers

Four Honeywell-built mobile computers have been certified for use by Department of Defense staff following a multiyear vetting process under the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Security Technical Implementation Guide. Honeywell said Thursday the STIG certification allows Honeywell’s CT40 XP, CT60 XP, CK65 and CN80G mobile computers to operate through DOD networks.

Collins Aerospace Records Delivery Milestone for THAAD Thrust Vector Actuation System

Collins Aerospace, a company of Raytheon Technologies, has manufactured the 600th Thrust Vector Actuation (TVA) System for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system. The company said Thursday the TVA is an all-electric component that has guided all of THAAD's live fire intercept activities so far. The component has also demonstrated capabilities needed for future missile weapon systems.

NASA Teams Up With GE, Honeywell on Aircraft Power Efficiency Project

General Electric and Honeywell will help NASA develop turbofan engine technologies as part of a research project to potentially increase the energy efficiency of core power systems for commercial transport and hybrid-electric aircraft. NASA said Friday it entered into separate agreements with the two companies to explore power extraction approaches for the Hybrid Thermally Efficient Core initiative.

The global market for aerospace 3D printers reached a value of $1.12B last year and is projected to experience a 25.3 percent compound annual growth rate to hit $6.81B by 2027.

Honeywell Establishes Center of Excellence for Military Helicopter Engines

Honeywell has established a center of excellence in Phoenix to maintain engines that power CH-47 Chinook helicopters flown by the U.S. Army and international defense customers. The T55 Repair and Overhaul CoE is close to Honeywell's aerospace business headquarters and co-located with its engine production and engineering operations, the company said Thursday.
