SAIC Reports Q2 FY 2021 Financial Results; Nazzic Keene Quoted

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has announced second quarter fiscal year 2021 results, which ended July 31, the company reported on Thursday. SAIC has estimated the second quarter impact from the COVID-19 pandemic to be approximately $65 million of revenue, $8 million of adjusted EBITDA and an immaterial net impact to free cash flow, primarily driven by reduced volume in the company's supply chain business.

ODNI Seeks Info on Tech Capabilities Under Intelligence Science & Technology Partnership Program

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has posted a request for information to seek concepts and technologies that will help ODNI support strategic initiatives within the intelligence community. A FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday says ODNI is looking for capabilities in various areas including artificial intelligence, behavioral science, forensics, computing, energy, space and sensors in support of strategic programs such as acquisition agility; use of machines to augment intelligence; data management; comprehensive cyber posture; and agile workforce.

Booz Allen Execs: Health Agencies Should Learn From IC to Harness the Power of Big Data

Booz Allen Hamilton executives wrote in an article published Thursday on The New England Journal of Medicine that federal health care agencies should leverage data science tools and lessons from the intelligence community to optimize big data in order to improve care quality and reduce costs. Steve Escaravage, a senior vice president and head of Booz Allen’s digital, analytics and strategy practice, co-wrote the piece with Kevin Vigilante, an executive VP and a health business leader at the company; and Mike McConnell, a senior executive adviser at Booz Allen.

Incoming SAIC CEO Nazzic Keene on Engility Acquisition, DoD’s Increasing Interest in Space

Nazzic Keene, chief operating officer of Science Applications International Corp., told the Washington Post in an interview published Friday the acquisition of Engility provides SAIC an opportunity to expand its presence in the intelligence community and military space industry. “That diversification I believe sets us apart a bit from everybody else,” Keene, a 2019 Wash100 winner, said of the Engility transaction.
