    Lockheed to Open New Weapons Production Facility in Alabama

    Lockheed Martin will open a projected 225,000-square-foot strike systems production facility in Troy, Ala., which will support the company’s existing cruise missile production factory in a push to meet U.S. Air Force weapons goals. The aerospace and defense contractor said Thursday it aims to complete construction by 2021 to support the potential increase in the production of the extended range variant of the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile in the second half of 2022.
