Huntington Ingalls Industries has officially transferred custody of a Legend-class national security cutter to the U.S. Coast Guard. Dubbed NSC 9, USCGC Stone (WMSL 758) is the Coast Guard's ninth Legend-class ship and the first vessel named in honor of late Cmdr. Elmer Fowler Stone, HII said Tuesday.
