ULA Sends Atlas V Rocket to Space Force for 5th SBIRS Satellite Launch

United Launch Alliance has shipped its Atlas V vehicle to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida ahead of launching a Lockheed Martin-built satellite that will join a constellation of missile-warning spacecraft. An Atlas V 421 rocket will send the Space-Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit 5 satellite to orbit on behalf of the Space and Missile Systems Center, ULA said Thursday.

LinQuest Secures $500M Space Force Contract for Analysis Support

LinQuest has been awarded a five-year, $500 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide analysis support to the U.S. Space Force. The contract will enable the military service branch and space analysis organizations to establish task orders that drive cooperation. "This award will allow us to expand the world-class support“¦ to our U.S. Space Force Guardians and the broader Space community," said Greg Young, LinQuest's chief operating officer.

ASTRA Selected for Space Force’s Cloud Characterization Tech Project

The U.S. Space Force has tasked Atmosphere and Space Technology Research Associates to build and test a military-grade prototype technology intended to characterize Earth's clouds. ASTRA said Tuesday it will collaborate with Lockheed Martin, Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Pumpkin and Atmospheric and Environmental Research to develop the cloud characterization system.
